This horizontal tote bag with a large opening and a zipper, made from a single piece of leather, is highly versatile and suitable for both business and casual scenes.
While pieces from the Sacchetto series have a single-piece construction like a paper bag, the leather on the back of the handle is reinforced, and two layers of leather are used to reinforce the bottom. Its large capacity makes it ideal for overnight trips. The handle length can also be adjusted in three stages to suit your body type and clothing.
[While Retaining the Characteristic Single-Piece Construction of the Sacchetto Series, This Piece Takes a Different Approach Than Before]
The combination of naturally textured leather and brass hardware gives it a substantial look, but the single-piece construction makes it lightweight. The water-tumbling processing, a first for the Sacchetto series, makes the leather soft and supple, creating a unique grain (wrinkle pattern) that gives it a distinctly different look.
[Water-Grained Leather That Creates Both a Modern and Classical Look]
We use high-quality cowhide leather carefully crafted by a tannery in Himeji, Japan, using thick steerhide leather from San Diego, North America, which is known for its minimal imperfections and high quality. The leather, tanned with a combination of chrome and tannin using Italian-made agents, has a high tannin content, giving it both firmness and flexibility even when made from a single piece.
The reverse side of the leather is treated for use as a single piece. Heat and pressure are applied with an iron to smooth down the fibers. This transforms the previously fuzzy appearance into a smooth and refined one.
The water-tumbling process loosens the fibers, resulting in leather with a subtle water-grain pattern. The natural beauty of the leather can be enjoyed along with a transparent sheen.
